Donning and doffing aids
Simple donning and doffing of medical compression garments
A compression garment must be put on to fit exactly, so it sits like a second skin on the leg or arm and can exert its full effect. The medi Butler donning aids have been developed to make donning compression garments easier: these are not only a great help for people with restricted mobility.
medi Butlers function as easily as they are to use: the compression garment is first pulled over the frame's stirrup. This pre-stretches the stocking and the foot can glide effortlessly in. Once the toe and heel have been adjusted to fit perfectly, the stocking is then pulled up over the leg bit by bit by alternately pulling on and releasing the handles of the medi Butler.
The donning aids from medi are available as various models. All people, both large and small, will find the right medi Butler model because the donning aid is available with three different handle lengths (short, long, height-adjustable).
The Big Butler was designed for patients with large calves or leg oedema: since it is often difficult to put on compression garments over large calves, this donning aid is particularly valuable and the handles are further apart.
Donning aids are not just available for compression garments, but there is also a model for compression pantyhose: the pantyhose Butler has two stirrups, and is thus the ideal aid for putting on compression pantyhose.
By the way, there's more: the medi Butler Off is the answer for taking off compression garments without bending and without physical effort.
